First day in Belgium, single-handed, my first lock, first lift bridge… The sun was out, light breezes, and it is spring! This all makes the start of this part of my adventures really special.
I’m moving from Nieuwpoort through the canal that parallels the coast, to Plessendale. Taking things slowly, so that I have time each day to deal with those things that make the boat workable, and mine. Today, just 2h cruising, but lots of time to cycle the local area and see the towns, do a little shopping for food, and get the boat in order.
And then a quiet evening with a book and a view!
