We begin.
Pat and Kerry (a couple of teachers from near Edmonton) have arrived, and today we set off from Devizes Marina, where the boat has been refitted and I have been preparing for life afloat. We are heading east on the Kennet and Avon Canal, with the intention of getting to Reading, and then turning north on the Thames river, towards Oxford.
If you look carefully, you will see a blue heron perched on the stern of the boat across the harbour from the bow of Wanderin Canuck. A delightful way to start the day.
